AC Staff & Faculty Receive Annual Service Awards

Angelina College Board Members and officials, along with staff and faculty members, met for the annual Service Awards Dinner Monday at Crown Colony, taking the time to recognize several noteworthy achievements.

Martha Keel and Rebecca Innerarity received awards for the Great Teacher Roundup, and Angie Wilcox was nominated for the 2009 Minnie Stevens Piper Award.

In addition, Dr. Patricia McKenzie, Dean of Instruction, received her service pin for 40 years of service to Angelina College.

Troy Edwards (Instructor, Technology and Workforce), Dr. John Harper (Instructor, Science and Math), Sellestine Hunt (Director, Testing and Student Development) and Jim Twohig (Dean of Student Services) received pins for 35 years of service.

Janet Avery-Sublett, Interim Director of the campus library, received her 30-year pin; Willie C. Rogers, Director of Management Information Systems, received his 25-year pin. Linda Herring (School Nurse) and Steve Watters (Vice President of Business Services) received 20-year pins.

George Davis (Instructor, Technology/Workforce) and Dale Kirkland (Coordinator, Housekeeping/Custodians) received their 15-year pins.

Those recognized for 10 years of service included Sharon Buffalo (Nursing Coordinator/Instructor), Sabrina Collins (Instructor, Fine Arts), Winifred Ferguson Adams (Director, Health Careers), Rebecca Innerarity (Instructor, Business), Martha Keel (Instructor, Health Careers), George Reed (Instructor, Science and Mathematics), Peggy Denby (Coordinator, Testing Services); Bob Quillin (Director, Adult Basic Education); Janette Townsend (Teacher, Adult Basic Education); Laura Bush (Teacher, Adult Basic Education); Lydia Medina (Teacher, Adult Basic Education); and Gary White (Instructor, Technology Workforce).

Members receiving five-year pins were Paul Draper (Instructor, Science and Mathematics); Patrick Hale (Instructor, Business); Steven Donahoe (Instructor, Health Careers); Susan Honeywell (Instructor, Fine Arts); Melvin Johnson (Instructor, Liberal Arts); Angela Jones (Instructor, Health Careers); Annis Jones (Instructor, Health Careers); John Lee (Instructor, Health Careers); Dallas McClelland (Instructor, Technology/Workforce); Keith New (Instructor, Business); Kary Raine (Instructor, Fine Arts); Dan Rankin (Instructor, Liberal Arts); Reginald Reynolds (Instructor, Fine Arts); David Turbeville (Instructor, Technology/Workforce); Gale Vohs (Security, Physical Plant); and Patricia Wars (Instructor, Technology/Workforce).
