1/9/2010 - Roadrunners Fall to San Jacinto: The Roadrunners put together an outstanding defensive effort in holding the Ravens to less than 35 percent shooting from the field. Unfortunately, the ‘Runners couldn’t do much better. “They did a good job shutting down Takoby (Jackson), and without his scoring punch we ran into some trouble,” AC head coach Todd Neighbors said. “We didn’t have anyone stepping up when we needed. “But I thought our defensive effort was very good. We held them to a low shooting percentage, but our offensive output just wasn’t good enough to get the job done.” Jackson, averaging over 20 points per game before Saturday, finished with 12 points; however, eight of those came from the free-throw line rather than from the field. Trent Brantley led AC with 18 points and 12 rebounds, but he and Jackson were the only Roadrunners in double figures. Carrington Tankson led the Ravens with 20 points, followed by teammates Kylel Coleman and Marsell Holden with 12 each. The loss drops AC to 4-2 in Region XIV East Zone play, while San Jacinto moves to 4-1. The Roadrunners will take Wednesday off before traveling to Athens to take on Trinity Valley on Saturday. Game time is 4 p.m.
