Lamont Mack Signs With Greece’s AEK Athens

Lamont Mack signed with AEK Athens in Greece. AEK Athens competes in the A1 league, the top professional division in Greece. They are known as one of the elite teams in European Basketball.

Mack played at Angelina College from 2005-2007. During his tenure at Angelina, Mack received his Associates Degree in Criminal Justice, was a 1st team All-Region selection, and he received NJCAA All American honors.

Mack then continued his career at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte. He was a 2009 third-team all-Atlantic 10 choice after leading the 49ers with a 15.2 scoring average. The power forward added 5.7 rebounds. He completed his two-year 49ers career with 908 points and 353 rebounds, averaging 14.2 points and 5.5 rebounds.

The high scoring forward notched double figures in 28 of 31 games as a senior, including seven games with 20 or more points. He scored in double figures in all 18 A-10 games with a career-high 32 points against Richmond. He also posted five double-doubles. He was named A-10 Player of the Week, Feb 14 after averaging 19.7 points over a three game span, including a 20 point effort in a win over Dayton and a 23 point performance in a win over George Washington.

In his two years with Charlotte, Mack scored in double figures 52 times in 64 games played. He scored 20 or more points 10 times.
