Lady Roadrunners Still Undefeated: No. 19 Lady Roadrunners 76, Highlassies 64

Until very late in the second half, the 19th-ranked Lady ‘Runners could build no more than a five-point lead against a very stubborn McLennan team, that margin dwindling to a single digit before Marcy Robinson’s three-pointer gave AC a little breathing room. Then buckets on consecutive possessions from Tyeka Ranton, Donia Naylor and Danyetta Williams extended the lead, and the Lady Roadrunners remained undefeated with the 76-64 win.

Ranton topped the AC scorebook with 16 points and nine rebounds, followed by Naylor with 15 points. Tiara George gathered nine boards to go with six points despite being plagued with foul trouble; and Ashley Maxwell chipped in a with several clutch defensive plays that proved crucial down the stretch.

McLennan’s Sara Stanley led the Highlassies with 19, and Katie Pavlik added 11.

The Lady Roadrunners (7-0) will travel to Baton Rouge on Friday for the weekend’s Baton Rouge Classic.
