11/13/2009 - Lady Roadrunners vs Neosho County College: No. 19 Lady Roadrunners 91, Neosho County College 70

Three Lady Roadrunners collected double-doubles as AC ran its record to 5-0 with a 91-70 win over Neosho County College during Friday’s Angelina Classic.

Donia Naylor poured in 24 points on 10-of-14 shooting to lead all scorers. The 19th-ranked Lady ‘Runners raced out to a 25-9 lead in the game’s first eight minutes, extending the margin to as many as 34 points before the final buzzer.

“Overall, we played hard,” AC head coach Byron Coleman said. “We didn’t play as clean as I’d have liked, with too many turnovers, but we did what we had to do for the most part.

“Give Neosho credit: They played hard for 40 minutes, so we’re pleased with the victory.”

In the day’s earlier action, Panola’s Fillies knocked off McLennan 77-56 and Arkansas Baptist handled Southwest Christian College 80-68.

The three-day tournament closes out this afternoon with McLennan and Neosho tipping off at noon, Panola and Arkansas Baptist playing at 2 p.m. and the Lady Roadrunners taking on SWCC at 4 p.m.
