Formed in 1995, the Angelina College Spanish Club  (ACSC) encourages AC students to participate actively in collegiate life.

The ACSC also seeks to expand students' awareness of the Hispanic culture and to provide opportunities to participate in activities that contribute to their awareness.

Whenever possible, the ACSC provides academic support for Hispanic students and for students studying Spanish.

Membership with voting right is extended to all students of Angelina College. Students elected as officers shall have at least a 2.00 overall grade point average at the time of the election. They also shall be in good standing with the college and enrolled in at least six credit hours in a regular semester during the term of office. Elections are held at the beginning of the Fall semester. Additional elections are held as needed in the event of the resignation of an officer.

Members of ACSC regularly participate in civic, philanthropic, cultural and social activities such as:

  • collecting money for the United Way campaign

  • participating in the Red Ribbon Week Parade and Jamboree

  • hosting Christmas parties for area children

  • attending cultural events such as the Dec. 2003 presentation of the Ballet Folclorico de Mexico in Houston

ACSC members also conduct fund raising activities to pay for their activities.
