ANNOUNCEMENT OF VACANCY POSITION: Full-Time Vocational Nursing Program Coordinator/Instructor EMPLOYMENT DATE: Spring 2010 QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum required: (1) Associate of Applied Science in nursing required; (2) Bachelors degree in Nursing preferred; (3) current licensure as a registered nurse in the state of Texas; (4) actively employed in nursing for at least five years, preferably in teaching or supervision of vocational nursing students; (5) must possess the ability to interact with a diverse student population; (6) excellent oral and written communication skills are required; (7) travel is required. JOB DESCRIPTION: A twelve month position that includes the following responsibilities: teaching, implementing, supervising and guiding the development and revision in the programs’ curricula according to standards set by the college or external accrediting agencies; preparing of reports, self-studies, and site visits; coordinating of all programs activities; planning, implementing and supervising students in the classroom clinical setting; planning, implementing and monitoring the programs’ budget; and acting as a liaison between the programs, the program advisory committees, and the community, and clinical affiliates. Based on the Lufkin campus and requires driving to Jasper, Crockett programs and off-campus. Assume teaching responsibilities and other college related activities as outlined in the Policies and Procedures Manual. CONTRACT AND SALARY: Salary assigned according to current salary schedule commensurate with education and experience.
