ANNOUNCEMENT OF VACANCY POSITION: Part-Time Instructor of Developmental English EMPLOYMENT DATE: Spring 2010 QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor’s degree in English required with a focus on teaching. A master’s degree in English is preferred. Preference will be given to individuals with at least two years experience teaching developmental writing at the college level. Prefer an interest in, and experience with, “English as a Second Language” students. Applicants should possess current technology skills related to teaching of writing skills and a willingness to pursue future technological developments. Interested applicants must possess the ability to interact with a diverse student population. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. JOB DESCRIPTION: Be responsible for preparing, teaching, and evaluating the developmental English courses in the classroom and laboratory setting. Assignment may include day, evening, summer, and off-campus teaching center classes when needed. This position will report to the Director of the Liberal Arts Division for teaching responsibilities.
