AC Music Department announces Sound Recording Technology program beginning Fall 2010. MUSC 1400 Introduction to Audio Technology to be offered on MW nights. Promoting fine arts in Texas schools

MUSIC SCHOLARSHIPS are now available for vocalists, pianists, and for the AC SINGERS (show choir). Students do not have to be music majors to apply. Interested students should contact Beckie Compton, Music Instructor, at 936-633-5237 or email bcompton angelina.edu for an audition.

Scholarship Audition Dates: Contact Larry Greer (936-633-5236 or lgreer angelina.edu
All auditions will be in Hudgins Hall. You must fill out and submit an application by the deadline for each date. Students must enroll for and maintain enrollment in a minimum of twelve semesters, six must be core courses outside the Division of Fine Arts. (Note: Students are not required to major in music) Maintain an overall cumulative grade point average of 2.5 and a cumulative average of 3.0 in the scholarship area. Students must not have completed more than sixty (60) hours of credits prior to applying for any A.C. music scholarship.

The Fine Arts Division functions as an educational and cultural force at the college and in the community.
The Fine Arts Division presents at least three major theater productions each year. Fine Arts students participate in the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival.

The College Chorale participates in a major musical theater production, a Christmas concert, and spring concert

The A.C. Singers act as goodwill ambassadors for the college when they present their high-energy variety show on campus and when they go on tour.

Vocal, piano and instrumental students perform as soloists and in a variety of ensemble settings in the community and the college's surrounding service area.

The Jazz Band performs Big Band Era music and small combo arrangements in concerts on campus and in the surrounding community.

The Concert /Lufkin Community Band performs major works in concerts on campus and at civic functions in the surrounding community

Art exhibits are held in the Fine Arts Gallery. Major artists are invited to show their work in special exhibits. In addition to coursework, workshops, lectures and demonstrations are held to enrich the art experience.
