The Angelina Arts Alliance is a non-profit organization with a mission to
provide a comprehensive and diverse series of performing arts programming
for the citizens of Angelina County.

ANGELINA ARTS ALLIANCE 2007-2008 SEASON
Temple Theater will come alive with the sound of music and dance when a
country superstar, an energetic modern dance company, a brassy quintet, a
song-filled tribute to a pair of legends, thundering drums, and a red-hot
Broadway musical take the stage during the Angelina Arts Alliance’s
2007-2008 season. Season sponsors are First Bank and Trust/East Texas and
Temple-Inland.

The Premier Season hits the ground running with the
memorable melodies of one of country music’s favorite
singer/songwriters, Clint Black (September 30 and October 1, 2007).
Winner of multiple Grammys, CMA and ACM Awards, Clint Black’s
countless fans and CD sales of over 18 million are a testament to his
talent and popularity. Come share a Texas-sized good time, as Clint
spends two nights singing his greatest hits and new favorites. The

Ailey II (November 17, 2007) is part of the legacy of
the legendary modern dancer/choreographer Alvin Ailey. Comprised of
stunning talented dancers, this “younger” company captivates audiences
nationwide by translating the strength, agility, and grace of body and
soul into stirring, powerful performances. The Alvin Ailey spirit
shines as the company performs an exhilarating and diverse repertoire
for its spellbound audiences. |

Nothing proclaims celebration and festivity like the
sound of brass instruments, so what better time of year than the
holidays to experience Canadian Brass (December 16, 2007)! This
astounding quintet has been donning tuxedos and tennis shoes to
entertain audiences around the world for nearly 38 years, with its
signature blend of virtuosity, humor, showmanship, classics and jazz.

The Piano Men (January 19, 2008) is a multi-media,
musical celebration of the 1970s—year by year, hit by hit—from the
songs of Billy Joel and Elton John. Performed by acclaimed recording
artist Jim Witter and his band, the show whisks the audience into a
musical time machine as it pays tribute to two of the century’s most
popular and prolific songwriters. Come along for the ride! You don’t
have to be a “Rocket Man”. You can come “Just the Way You Are”. This

As soon as the show begins, you won’t have to wonder
why Jigu! (March 19, 2008) is known as “Thunder Drums of China”. In a
performance that is a banquet of delight for the senses, the 28
amazingly talented drummers, percussionists, and musicians from the
Shanxi Province in China combine mesmerizing, high-tech lighting and
special effects, hypnotic melodies, and majestic, rumbling percussion
to deliver a stirring, primal experience for the audience. Colorful
costumes, magnificent pageantry, and electrifying rhythms make this an
event for the entire family which should not be missed! This show is

It’s the one, the only Chicago…The Musical (March 27,
2008). Winner of six Tony Awards and still going strong on Broadway,
this razzle-dazzle story of sin and celebrity is set in the Chicago of
the late 1920s. The musical follows the misadventures of Roxie Hart as
she discovers that—with the right showman lawyer and public
relations—you can not only get away with murder, but become the toast
of the town! With a Grammy-winning score by Kander and Ebb, Chicago is
considered to be “Broadway’s most popular musical”. A live orchestra
will have the theater jumpin’ and jivin’. Come experience the songs,
