Office of Quality EnhancementThe concept of quality enhancement is central to the Commission on Colleges’ philosophy of accreditation. Institutions should be engaged in a program of improvement that will demonstrate how well the institution attains its mission. The Office of Quality Enhancement (OQE) is responsible for developing and maintaining institutional databases to support decision-making, planning and assessment. In addition, OQE assists in the administration, collection, and analysis of student, faculty, and staff surveys. OQE plays a key role in working with academic divisions and other appropriate faculty and administrative staff to develop and implement a comprehensive learning outcomes assessment plan for the core curriculum, major programs, and the personal and social growth of students. This office reports to the Vice President and Dean of Instruction. Institutional Effectiveness activities do not occur in isolation, but involve administrators, faculty, staff and students. The Institutional Planning and Evaluation Council (IPEC) works closely with the Office of Quality Enhancement to identify areas for evaluation, design assessment strategies, and to guide the institution in carrying out its mission. |
