A faculty learning community (FLC) is a group of multi-disciplinary faculty and staff engaged in an active, collaborative, yearlong program to enhance teaching and learning, and community building. Evidence has shown that FLCs increase faculty interest in teaching and learning and provide safety and support for faculty to investigate, assess, and adopt new pedagogies.

To address the goals of the QEP, the Faculty Learning Community to Study and Implement the Pedagogy of Critical Thinking has been formulated to attain a common understanding of the Paul/Elder model of critical thinking. The year-long program involves training, development of a critical thinking enhanced curriculum (CTEC), and implementation.
